2026 Master Lumberman Nominations

WWPA is now seeking nominations for the 2026 Master Lumberman honors. The awards will be presented at the Association's Annual Meeting, April 13, 2026. Master Lumberman is the industry's highest career achievement recognition for lumber manufacturing and quality control employees working in Western sawmills. Member companies have until December 31, 2025 to submit Master Lumberman nominations to WWPA.

WWPA's Master Lumberman Certificate Committee will review nominations and select those individuals who meet the criteria. The award recognizes outstanding lumber grading and quality control professionals who have contributed to their companies and the Western lumber industry. Candidates must be nominated by his or her company, be a WWPA Certified Grader for at least 20 years, have extensive experience in all levels of lumber manufacturing and hold supervisory responsibilities within their company.

Out of the thousands of industry employees working at Western mills, only a select few have achieved Master Lumberman status. Since the program began in 1968, only 445 quality control professionals have received the coveted honor.

Nomination applications can be downloaded by clicking here and sent to WWPA Quality Standards Director, Pete Austin via fax at 503-224-3935 or via the email address below.

For questions on the award, contact Pete Austin at 503-306-3478 or email paustin@wwpa.org.
