2026 Master Lumberman Nominations

 

WWPA is now seeking nominations for the 2026 Master Lumberman honors. The awards will be presented at the Association's Annual Meeting, April 13, 2026. Master Lumberman is the industry's highest career achievement recognition for lumber manufacturing and quality control employees working in Western sawmills. Member companies have until December 31, 2025 to submit Master Lumberman nominations to WWPA.

WWPA's Master Lumberman Certificate Committee will review nominations and select those individuals who meet the criteria. The award recognizes outstanding lumber grading and quality control professionals who have contributed to their companies and the Western lumber industry. Candidates must be nominated by his or her company, be a WWPA Certified Grader for at least 20 years, have extensive experience in all levels of lumber manufacturing and hold supervisory responsibilities within their company.

Out of the thousands of industry employees working at Western mills, only a select few have achieved Master Lumberman status. Since the program began in 1968, only 445 quality control professionals have received the coveted honor.

2024 Statistical Yearbook and Stats for Analysis

The WWPA 2024 Statistical Yearbook of the Western Lumber Industry is now available for members to access from the WWPA Members Only website. The Statistical Yearbook is an annual summary of Western softwood lumber production activity by Western state, region and species. It includes Western sawmill profile by state and region covering timber sources, distribution channels, and principle markets. The Yearbook also includes foreign trade statistics for logs and lumber as well as U.S. housing starts and estimated softwood lumber consumption by market. The cover photo for this year's book was provided by Collins, Chester California sawmill.

Also available is the WWPA 2024 Western Lumber Production Statistics for Anlysis report. Published as three separate Microsoft™ Excel workbooks, Stats for Analysis includes Western lumber production by species and grade (excluding Redwood lumber). Regional production by species and grade are included.

Members that have a Members Only account can login into the WWPA website and download the reports. Members who need to set up an account can fill out the Members Only registration online form. Or email WWPA Production Associate, Von Porter, at vporter@wwpa.org and request login credentials. A company email is required for registration.

WWPA is now seeking nominations for the 2026 Master Lumberman honors. The awards will be presented at the Association's Annual Meeting, April 13, 2026. Master Lumberman is the industry's highest career achievement recognition for lumber manufacturing and quality control employees working in Western sawmills. Member companies have until December 31, 2025 to submit Master Lumberman nominations to WWPA.

WWPA's Master Lumberman Certificate Committee will review nominations and select those individuals who meet the criteria. The award recognizes outstanding lumber grading and quality control professionals who have contributed to their companies and the Western lumber industry. Candidates must be nominated by his or her company, be a WWPA Certified Grader for at least 20 years, have extensive experience in all levels of lumber manufacturing and hold supervisory responsibilities within their company.

Out of the thousands of industry employees working at Western mills, only a select few have achieved Master Lumberman status. Since the program began in 1968, only 445 quality control professionals have received the coveted honor.

WWPA is now seeking nominations for the 2026 Master Lumberman honors. The awards will be presented at the Association's Annual Meeting, April 13, 2026. Master Lumberman is the industry's highest career achievement recognition for lumber manufacturing and quality control employees working in Western sawmills. Member companies have until December 31, 2025 to submit Master Lumberman nominations to WWPA.

WWPA's Master Lumberman Certificate Committee will review nominations and select those individuals who meet the criteria. The award recognizes outstanding lumber grading and quality control professionals who have contributed to their companies and the Western lumber industry. Candidates must be nominated by his or her company, be a WWPA Certified Grader for at least 20 years, have extensive experience in all levels of lumber manufacturing and hold supervisory responsibilities within their company.

Out of the thousands of industry employees working at Western mills, only a select few have achieved Master Lumberman status. Since the program began in 1968, only 445 quality control professionals have received the coveted honor.

WWPA is now seeking nominations for the 2026 Master Lumberman honors. The awards will be presented at the Association's Annual Meeting, April 13, 2026. Master Lumberman is the industry's highest career achievement recognition for lumber manufacturing and quality control employees working in Western sawmills. Member companies have until December 31, 2025 to submit Master Lumberman nominations to WWPA.

WWPA's Master Lumberman Certificate Committee will review nominations and select those individuals who meet the criteria. The award recognizes outstanding lumber grading and quality control professionals who have contributed to their companies and the Western lumber industry. Candidates must be nominated by his or her company, be a WWPA Certified Grader for at least 20 years, have extensive experience in all levels of lumber manufacturing and hold supervisory responsibilities within their company.

Out of the thousands of industry employees working at Western mills, only a select few have achieved Master Lumberman status. Since the program began in 1968, only 445 quality control professionals have received the coveted honor.
