The Western lumber industry will ride the trail to Scottsdale this spring for the 2007 Western Wood Products Association Annual Meeting March 10-13 at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch.

The three-day event provides a unique opportunity to make contact with the leaders in the Western lumber industry. The schedule of events includes a golf tournament, meetings, speakers, receptions, spouse program, Spring Training baseball game, a forecast of lumber supply and demand and plenty of time to meet with the leading lumber producing companies in the West.

Registration packets will be mailed in January. If you would like to receive a registration packet for the 2007 WWPA Annual Meeting, e-mail Diana Sprague at dsprague@wwpa.org or click here to download. Yyou can register online using the links shown above.

Fees for the meeting are $390 for WWPA Members, $450 for WWPA grading service mills, Distributor Associates and Service Associates, and $525 for all others. Spouse registration fees are $75, plus $75 for the optional Spouse Program. Fees for optional activities are: Golf tournament ($235 per player), construction tour ($15 per person) and Spring Training baseball game ($20 per person).

Exchange Show

For suppliers and others seeking to reach Western lumber mills: The WWPA Exchange Show on Monday evening, March 12, offers a valuable opportunity to reach key mill decision makers. A limited number of tables are available at the Exchange Show for $150 each, or $75 if you are a WWPA Distributor or Service Associate. Site Tour - Schuck Component Systems

Traditional building is moving from on-site building to more pre-constructed components. One of the leading wood component companies in the Phoenix area is Schuck Component Systems. WWPA has arranged a tour of the company's truss, wall panel and component manufacturing facilities in Glendale, Ariz., on Sunday, March 11.

Tour attendees also will hear from company managers on the new trends in framing and wood construction that will impact lumber use in the future. The tour is available exclusively for meeting attendees on Sunday afternoon. Cost is $15 and includes transportation to and from the site.

Spouse Event

There is a $75 registration fee for spouses. An optional program, for an additional fee, is also available. WWPA will host a Kierland Commons Shopping Tour and Lunch on Monday, March 12 for spouses.

The tour starts at Kierland Commons, one of the Valley's top shopping experiences. Spouses will be able to stroll in the beautiful Arizona sunshine along sidewalks filled with beautiful storefronts and esquisite landscaping.

Following shopping, WWPA spouses will move to to Maggiano's Little Italy, where they will enjoy a delicious meal served family style. While the group nibbles on a delicious appetizer, the chef will prepare several selections on the menu.

The fee is $75 per spouse, in addition to the $75 spouse registration fee.

Golf Tournament

WWPA will sponsor a golf tournament Sunday morning, March 11. Cost is $235 per player and the tournament will be played on the Gainey Ranch Golf Club next to the hotel. To guarantee your spot in the tournament, registration forms must be received at WWPA by Feb. 9.

Attire

Dress for the Annual Meeting is business casual. Sport coats are suggested for the
receptions.

Please note that March is a busy time in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area with spring break and baseball spring training. To assure a hotel room, make your reservations as early as possible.

Deadlines for guaranteed reservations at the Hyatt Regency is Feb. 10, with reservations received after that date confirmed on a space-available basis only.
