The Western Wood Products Association (WWPA) is a timber inspection and rules-writing agency,
certified by the Board of Review of the American Lumber Standard Committee, Inc. (ALSC) which operates under
the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Timber buyers can look to WWPA’s registered grade mark
for assurance that timber will consistently meet grade specifications and performance standards.
The Association monitors timber grading and product
quality control at its Member mills and provides mill inspection, timber-grading training and incentive programs, MSR and glued-products standards, and mill-efficiency studies. In addition, WWPA provides technical services supporting the use of Western timber and publishes a
variety of statistical reports on Western timber production, distribution and consumption.
The WWPA International Buyer’s Guide allows customers to locate the products and services of timber manufacturers accustomed to international trading. These Member companies are committed to supplying quality products worldwide and support many programs that assist international buyers in specifying and using Western timber products.
Visit WWPA at www.wwpa.org for information on Western timber, to access a searchable database for the information in this Guide (localized in English, Japanese, Chinese and Spanish), or to review all WWPA Member-company products and services through an interactive
Buyer’s Guide developed for the U.S. marketplace.
As a member of the Softwood Export Council (SEC), WWPA supports international field offices where customers can find additional support, in multiple languages, for Western timber products. Please visit SEC at
